Chocolate gets a lot of its bad reputation because it's a candy. But as far as candy goes, it does have some benefits. Chocolate contains many of the same antioxidants that are found in fruits and vegetables. Antioxidants help protect against inflammation, high blood pressure, cancer, heart disease, and stroke.
Bottom Line: Chocolate does have some health benefits, but it is still a candy and still high in calories. If you do eat chocolate, eat dark chocolate where the cocoa content is higher. Also, skip the milk chocolate anything that is labeled chocolate flavored doesn't really count.
